Spooky events are taking place at visitor attractions across the United Kingdom this Halloween and the historic royal palaces of Hampton Court and the Tower of London are no exception, with three spine-tingling experiences organised for this October.

From 22 – 30 October, visitors are invited to explore the haunted history of Hampton Court Palace through mystical projections and eerie sound effects. They can experience a spine-tingling séance in the council chamber where noblemen decided the fate of doomed Tudor Queens, and watch out for King James I as he wanders the palace, terrified by its sorcery.
From tormented wives to Tudor trumpeters, Hampton Court Palace will come alive with spirits. Along the way, the courtyards and cloisters will be decked with suitably frightful decorations, from intricately carved pumpkins to creepy cobwebs and spooky scenes.

Hampton Court Palace is Britain’s most famous Tudor palace, just a short journey from the centre of London. Hampton Court was at the heart of royal power for almost two hundred years and, this Halloween, the spirit world will be closer than ever in Henry VIII’s notoriously haunted palace.
For those who are truly daring, for two nights only, Halloween at Hampton Court Palace: After Dark invites visitors to roam amongst the spirits after hours. Brand new for this year, this Halloween adventure will invite brave explorers to lose themselves in dark winding corridors and tiptoe through chilling courtyards uncovering the darkest secrets of the Tudor palace. Visitors must watch out for the Keeper of the Keys, who can appear out of thin air, and steer clear of Mole the Mischief Maker as he summons spirits together to cause chaos.

Visitors can also follow in the footsteps of infamous prisoners at the Tower of London from 22 – 31 October, exploring notorious sites such as the Traitors’ Gate, the Scaffold Site, and the Bloody Tower.
The Tower of London is one of the most popular attractions in the UK and dates back almost 1,000 years. This year, the Tower is going all out for Halloween, with spooky decorations, spine-tingling sound effects, and rooms transformed to tell terrifying tales about past inhabitants.
