We’re pleased to announce that Janet Redler Travel has been shortlisted for the prestigious UKInbound Awards for Excellence 2022, the leading awards for the UK inbound tourism industry.

UKInbound is the trade association that represents the UK’s inbound tourism – the sixth largest export industry and third largest employer in the country. The shortlist for the awards was drawn up following a competitive nominations process and the winners for most of the categories will be chosen by a panel of expert judges. (The Members' Choice Award is chosen by UKInbound members.)

These annual awards recognise and celebrate the organisations and individuals that have made a significant contribution to the continuing success of the inbound tourism sector - whether through developing innovative new products, creative use of technology, championing sustainable practices, or driving travel trade collaboration. The travel industry has worked incredibly hard over the last 12 months, facing many challenges along the way. 

Categories include Individual Attraction of the Year, Accommodation Provider of the Year, Sightseeing Operator of the Year and Tour Operator / DMC of the Year, the category for which Janet Redler Travel has been shortlisted.

2022 has been a momentous year for Janet Redler Travel, not only because our business has bounced back dramatically since the pandemic, but because we started a new chapter as a limited company.

Originally set up as a partnership 12 years ago by travel experts Janet Redler and Nick Bardsley, with over 40 years’ industry experience between them, the business has built a reputation for premium tours. Now firmly established as a family business, our limited company continues this tradition, as Janet’s son Neil and daughter-in-law Dawn joined Janet and Nick on the board.

Not only have we seen a good deal of pent-up demand, resulting from tours which were postponed once, twice or more, but we have had an influx of new enquiries through our website and social media channels, marketing initiatives such as our monthly e-newsletter, which reaches over 1,000 travel professionals globally, and through word-of-mouth recommendation.

Our very special tour for quilters!

So far this year, we have delivered a very special quilting tour of Britain for over 60 people on behalf of Northcott Silk Inc in the USA and Canada, to mark their 85th anniversary and the 10th birthday of their global Stonehenge brand. We have also delivered garden tours, an opera tour for Swedish enthusiasts, a mining heritage tour, another quilting tour built around Birmingham’s Festival of Quilts, several group tours of Wales and Scotland, and dozens of tours for family groups and individuals. Perhaps one of the highlights for us was following the regularly updated blog from a couple enjoying a luxury two-month retirement holiday-of-a-lifetime with us!
