Sheep rush hour, cable car commutes and Claddagh rings – just some of the things visitors will only find on the island of Ireland.
Tourism Ireland has unveiled a new film called “Only on the island of Ireland will you find …”, featuring eight things that make the island of Ireland unique, including deserted beaches and a matchmaker’s dream.
This short film showcases eight experiences that visitors will only find when they travel to Ireland.
The island of Ireland is known for its rugged beauty, traditional music and its friendly pubs. Tourism Ireland’s latest film shows prospective visitors all of this and more – the things you will only find in Ireland, such as sheep rush hour, cable car commutes and Claddagh rings.
Janet Redler, Chief Executive of Janet Redler Travel & Tourism, said: “Ireland offers so much that makes it special and this film captures some of the uniqueness of this fantastic country. From the stunning landscapes to the warm welcome; from the way of life to the wonderful music and dancing, Ireland has so much to offer the visitor.”
Tourism is the island of Ireland’s largest indigenous industry, responsible for more than 4% of GNP in the Republic of Ireland and employing approximately 220,000 people. In 2016, over 10.5 million overseas visitors came to the island of Ireland, delivering revenue of about €5.4 billion (£4.7 billion).
