We had a safe journey back to France last Friday and we were welcomed by particularly hot weather. I just wanted to thank you for the fabulous stay you have organised for us in Shropshire.

Because you are such a considerate, warmhearted and efficient person I have appreciated every single moment on the Shropshire paths and across the fields, even when walking up the hills was a bit of a challenge for me.

Meeting your friends was also very pleasant and i will remember John's welcome in his "Little Eden". I will be glad to see you all again one day.

Our whole trip was wonderful, thanks to you and your team. We enjoyed every minute. Both Hotels were nice but if I had my way I would make the Imperial a 10 star. The men who were on duty in reception the night I lost my stone were very helpful - they looked all over the dining room and bar on their hands and knees without success, but said they would have the chambermaid to do a “hand sweep” before vacuuming. It worked!

My only regret was it ended too soon. If I ever save enough money I’ll contact you to show me around again. I was so impressed with the friendly people.

Please accept our sincere compliments when we say that you MADE the Wales portion our trip. Wales is indeed a beautiful and fascinating country but your professionalism, working knowledge of your homeland and unmistakable pride in your heritage made Wales come alive for us. Despite the sometimes dreary weather, your contagious enthusiasm kept our interest keen and our spirits up. You made us feel welcome from the first minutes of our meeting and time spent in your delightful company will always be a treasure memory. (Plus, the preparation for Tom of riding in the backseat with a woman driving on the “wrong” side of the road was invaluable in later coping with my 80 year old Irish cousin who drives like a Formula One race car driver! which was truly unnerving on one way country lanes.)

We indeed enjoyed your company and appreciate all the work that the staff at JRTT did to prepare our wonderful trip. I have no difficulty recommending your company to any of our friends - we will return.

Family and friends often ask us, ‘what was the best part of your trip?’ There is no single answer to that question, as all facets of the experience met or exceeded our fondest expectations.

Perhaps the most beautiful country-side and seashore were to be found in Wales; the most emotionally moving visual experiences at Omaha Beach and the adjacent cemeteries; the most awesome environments at Westminster Abbey and Notre Dame, or maybe be the bases of the Eiffel Tower, or maybe the magnificence of the Crown Jewels... And definitely for out and out atmosphere it had to be the tine town of Honfleur. Nick you were right on with your recommendation!

The funniest experiences had to be Lolly and me trying (and succeeding!) to divine the complexities of the Paris and London subway systems. Parenthetically, we found - without exception complexities of the Paris and London subway systems. Parenthetically, we found - the French and Brits who we asked (or who volunteered!) for direction or other help to be kind, helpful and courteous. We remain very impressed about that. For example, I had occasion to seek minor medical help at a hospital in rural France and was afforded attention and care as though I were royalty. Incidentally, the cost for TWO emergency room visits were a total of $80 US equivalent! Try that in NYC.

The tour guides assigned to us were each professional, knowledgeable and accommodation. To be singled out an extra-ordinary was Janet (herself) Redler who sheparded us about Wales. She was an absolute marvel personally and professionally. She also had the rare ability to “read” our preferences and anticipate our needs.

Among the hotels which we particularly enjoyed were the Villa Lara Hotel, Bayeux and Gwesty Cymru in Aberystwyth. Each was different in its own way, but each was also staffed by helpful, kind and intelligent personnel.

There were absolutely no transportation glitches, missed appointment or related inconveniences, except for the afore communicated canceled flight O’Hare to Green Bay.

By the way also thank you for the weather which was uniformly gorgeous, with almost no rain and what little of that there was not inconveniencing. It didn’t even rain on our last night in London.

On to Italy in a year or two - we hope.

JRTT do a fabulously sophisticated tour - it was great. Excellent hotel and food. The 'surprises' were wonderful. The schedule was perfect six weeks in Europe - everything from skate fishing off Oban, deer stalking at Pitlochry, salmon fishing on the Wye, Canal ......., Limoges and its specialist shops, boating on the Poitevin, Poitou-Charentes and its cognac vineyards.

We will always remember James.

We are home after having a wonderful trip to France. Thank you so much for all the arrangements and suggestions you made for us. I can't thank you and Nick enough. The hotels you booked were great, much nicer than the ones we booked ourselves. I am going through my photos and will send you some soon. Normandy was wonderful we loved the Hotel Villa Lara. The Langs really enjoyed going out to Honfleur and driving along the coast. We had a great time in Paris... a great time everywhere. Definitely want to go back and perhaps spend more time in one area and not so much traveling around.

So glad we took the train down to Provence... the driving and tolls were much more of a hassle than we expected so that saved us a lot of grief. The Langs were very concerned about the connection time between the two train stations in Paris, but we made it with time to spare. No problems at all. I so appreciate your advice and counsel on this. A lot of the places would not accept our credit cards... even one with the "chip" that the Lang's had. The cards worked in most places just not at the toll booths and gas stations. Sometimes they would take cash but sometimes not... so that was more of an inconvenience than we anticipated, so not having to drive to the south of France definitely saved us a lot of time and hassle. And I loved the train ride. We met some great people on the train and enjoyed the ride.
